Help Green Spring Gardens by Donating Cuttings from Your Garden!

cropped-winterberry.jpgAre you planning to do some pruning of your evergreens this fall? You can help Green Spring Gardens in Fairfax!

Before you prune this fall: FROGS will be selling bundles of greens at the Gardeners Holiday Open House on Sunday December 6th.  As always, we are turning to our wonderful Green Spring volunteers and asking that you bring in any greens that you may have or can cut from your yards for this purpose.  Cuttings should be between 12 and 18 inches long and can be brought in any time between Monday, November 23rd and close of business on Thursday, December 4.  (The later the better)  There will be buckets in the closed Garden Shop where you can place your cuttings in water.

Types of greens needed: Arborvitae, cedar, magnolia, balsam, fir, cryptomeria japonica, pine, holly (especially with berries, red or yellow), yew, winterberry, juniper, staghorn sumac berries, acuba (variegated), nandina w/berries.   No boxwood, please.
