Join us at our celebration of Fall and nature with plants, crafts, food and education! RAIN OR SHINE!
Taste: Savory and sweet foods and beverages featuring herbs.
Visit: Arlington’s oldest house, Ball-Sellers House, two doors from Glencarlyn Library Garden at 5620 Third Street, for tours; the Library for kids’ storytime at 10:30 followed by crafts; and the Library Truck.
Buy: Native plants from Hill House Nursery; Painted Ukrainian pysanky eggs; handmade pottery from Kimberly’s Kiln; local honey from Hive Hive; used books from Friends of Arlington Library; “Perfect Partners” T-shirts; (free!) saplings from the Small Trees Make Big Canopies program; and more.
Make: Sachets from dried herbs and flowers and take the scents of AutumnFest home.
Learn: From the experts. Mini-workshops include:
11 a.m. – Native Plant Walk: Get acquainted with native plants for your yard.
Noon – Garden Basics: How to plant, do soil tests, and choose the right plant.
1 p.m. – Invasives: How to recognize and remove invasive plants.
All Day — Fun kids activities; Consult with Master Naturalists and Master Gardeners; Learn about the new invasive Spotted Lanternfly.
