Native Trees: How to Select, Plant, and Help Them Thrive

September 9, 2022 @ 10:00 am 11:30 am EDT

Our local urban tree canopy depends upon the efforts of thousands of residents to care for mature trees and to plant new ones on privately held properties. Extension Master Gardeners Amy Crumpton and Molly Newling discuss how to properly care for trees already in your home landscape and how to assess your site’s conditions to help you select appropriate new tree species to include. Their emphasis is on native tree species since our area has such a rich number of species to choose from. They discuss how and when (Fall is the time!) to plant a tree and how to tend it as you watch it grow.

If you can’t join us for a live online presentation, video recordings of the sessions are posted to the Master Gardener Virtual Classroom.
