Marcus Comer, Ph.D,  will give a talk on Sustainable Food Production Systems, from 7 to 9 pm at the Fairlington Community Center, 3308 S. Stafford St., Arlington VA 22206.  Dr. Comer will discuss his research on sustainable urban agriculture, including the latest production methods, costs, and pros and cons of alternative food production methods.  This is a chance for attendees to hear more about Dr. Comer’s work at Virginia State University, which has  been described in Aquaponics at VSU and Indoor Farming in Petersburg.

About Dr. Comer:   Dr. Marcus M. Comer currently serves as a natural resources extension specialist with Cooperative Extension at Virginia State University.  His professional experience includes serving as an agricultural education assistant professor at North Carolina’s A&T State University; as a farm specialist with Tennessee State University’s Small Farm Program; and as a loan officer with Farm Credit Services in Kentucky.
