GardenFest is a fun, free, educational afternoon of garden-centric demonstrations, informational booths, and interactive activities. We're inviting the neighborhood to come out and learn about all sorts of gardening topics, such as the the Master Gardeners of Northern Virginia plant clinic, at-home composting, growing native plants, and beekeeping.
Join Extension Master Gardener Kathryn Kellam to discover the many delicious herbs and spices you can grow in your garden; herbs you can grow on a windowsill; and how to nurture and harvest these wonderful superfoods for year-round use.
Join Master Naturalist Amy Bolton to discuss how to incorporate the basic needs for wildlife into your outdoor space. Learn how choosing a few strategic plants can attract a host of birds, butterflies and mammals. Be surprised at the biodiversity you can support by planting native plants and creating a four-season habitat.
Meet with VCE Arlington/Alexandria Extension Master Gardeners to choose the perfect plants for your garden! If you are planning to start or add to a native plant collection, they will help with plant selection, planting advice, and answer all your questions. In addition, there will be artists, food vendors, and bake sales.
