This lovely wildflower, a hummingbird favorite, shines with brilliant scarlet flowers. Its natural habitat is floodplain forests, swamps, and wet meadows throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.* The Virginia Native Plant Society honored Cardinal Flower as Wildflower of the Year in 1991.
