Learn How to Make a DIY Mosquito Larva Trap

Small Space Garden Fairlington Community Center 3308 S. Stafford St., Arlington, Virginia

Join Extension Master Gardeners for a demonstration on how to make a DIY larva trap sized for patios and balconies, May 28, at the Small Space Garden, any time between 9 and 11 a.m.

Larval traps contain water; straw, hay, grass, or leaves; and Bti (the ingredient in Mosquito Dunks or Bits).  Bti is a selective insecticide - it targets mosquito larvae but not other wildlife. Females lay eggs in the water, and the larvae that emerge are killed.
