The Arlington County Fair is so much more than rides and food!
Virginia Cooperative Extension Booth
Come visit Virginia Cooperative Extension at the 2024 Arlington County Fair. Included in the Extension booth area that is located between the Arlington County Parks and Recreation Department’s booths and the Competitive Exhibits, will be the Extension Master Gardeners with a display on Houseplant Care and Culture, and Ask a Master Gardener. The Arlington Regional Master Naturalist chapter will have a display that focuses on Restoring Healthy Ecosystems that includes information about mosquito traps, habitat enhancement and lots of hands-on activities for kids. Also featured in the VCE booth will be the Tree Stewards of Arlington Alexandria, Master Food volunteers, and Energy Masters. The Arlington 4H program will also feature the activities of club members with information about how to start up a new 4H club.
Competitive Exhibits – Awards Ceremony – Sunday, August 18, 2024, at 1 p.m.
Gardeners, cooks and bakers all have entries in the County Fair Competitive Exhibits. Residents of Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church City and Joint Base Ft Myer-Henderson Hall are eligible to enter. Blue ribbons are awarded to prize winning vegetables and flowers, breads, baked goods and preserves. Extension Master Gardeners judge the gardening submissions.
- Item drop-off is Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m
- Baked good submissions should be delivered on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m.
