Organic Vegetable Garden (OVG), June 2nd:

For a second year in a row (yes, there is a pun here) we are growing our tomatoes on trellises. Based on research, tomatoes grown on trellises have less rot, are bigger, and are easier to pick. If you have the space, growing tomatoes on trellises offers multiple benefits. Pruning off the lower branches provides more air circulation, which lessens the chance of disease. Trellising also allows more sunshine to plants. Harvesting the fruit is easier because it is concentrated in the upper branches.
