Some of our most visited pages, Tried and True Native Plant Selections for the Mid-Atlantic, get a new look! Besides an index that features a picture along with the Latin and common names of each plant, the individual species pages are arranged in a more compact, visually appealing, and user friendly format. They also display well on a mobile device.
At the top of each page, you will find an image gallery for the featured species that shows (when photographs are available) various characteristics and developmental stages–emerging growth, flowers, fruit, seasonal leaves/interest, and stems/bark as well as pollinators that frequent it and how it looks in public or residential settings. Below the gallery are two columns. To the left is an image of the fact sheet. Click it to see the easy-to-read PDF file. On the right is a hyperlink to the PDF fact sheet along with a brief introduction to the species, and if appropriate, a footnote identifying where it is indigenous in the Mid-Atlantic Region. If available, a video or two may follow.
We hope this new format will enhance your experience with the Tried and True Native Plant fact sheets and help you to choose the right plants for your property.
