One of the best ways to learn about vegetable gardening is to see long established gardens in action. Make time this year to visit the Organic Vegetable Garden in north Arlington at Potomac Overlook Regional Park, one of the eight demonstration gardens operated by MGNV.

FOUA Receives FY 2025 Arlington County Food Security Mini-Grant to Support Urban Agriculture
Friends of Urban Agriculture (FOUA) has been awarded a FY 2025 Food Security Mini-Grant from the Arlington County Department of Human Services. Part of Arlington County’s Food Security Strategic Plan, these mini-grants are designed to help local non-profit organizations working in food security. FOUA is excited to use these funds to further our mission of supporting a resilient, community-driven urban agriculture sector that provides a fair, healthy, sustainable food system for all Arlingtonians.

Produce Bagging Center Is Now Open Mondays & Thursdays

If you find yourself lost in your garden with bunches of basil, loads of lettuce, or endless eggplants this growing season, Plot Against Hunger can help! We once again welcomes your extra garden produce, whether it’s greens galore or profusely proliferating peppers. We will deliver it to local food pantries the same day so our low-income neighbors can enjoy fresh, healthy foods. We gladly accept even small amounts. Our 2024 schedule:
Mondays 12:30 – 2:30 pm (or Tuesday on Monday holidays)
Now open Mondays and Thursdays!
Location: Rock Spring Church, 5010 Little Falls Rd, Arlington
Learn more details about types of produce most welcomed by clients, how to prepare for donation, and pantries you can deliver to directly here on our site. In 2023, Arlington gardeners donated over 15,000 lbs! Help us break 20,000 lbs this year!
