In July, the heat and humidity hit us hard. Added to that, we struggle with too much or not enough rain, persistent insect pests and plant diseases. Controlling pests in our gardens can be frustrating whether they be blatantly furry and adorable or seemingly impossible to find as you search the ruins of a plant. Pests can even be invasive plants that bully the non-invasive vegetation. Suddenly, gardening becomes not so much fun!
Arlington/Alexandria Extension Master Gardeners are here to get you through the torrid days of summer and to give you tools to conquer these garden challenges. RSVP for our programs on Tree Pests and Diseases by Extension Agent Kirsten Conrad, and Managing the Garden’s Overabundance with Associate Agent Aisha Salazar to turn too many tomatoes into pasta sauce
